Mafia Moles - The Avalon Game 1.1.1

Mafia Moles invites players into a strategic world where they assume roles within the FBI, aiming to dismantle mafia operations. The players are tasked with carrying out successful sting operations while navigating the threat posed by internal saboteurs. Moles, acting on behalf of the mafia, will attempt to disrupt missions by alerting their criminal counterparts. Complicating matters, the Informant, who has identified the moles, must evade detection by the Hitman, whose role is critical—if he successfully identifies the Informant, it could spell disaster for the FBI.

Each participant interacts through their mobile devices to access role information, cast votes, and execute mission directives. The game's dynamic structure hinges on the concept of secret identities, which dictate team allegiance—either mafia or FBI—information access, and unique capabilities.

• FBI Roles:
  • Informant: A key figure who knows all mafia members except for the Cugine. However, if identified by the Hitman by game's end, this character faces execution, leading to an FBI loss.
  • Profiler: Possesses knowledge of both the Informant and Imposter but cannot distinguish between them.
• Mafia Roles:
  • Moles: Operatives embedded within the FBI tasked with sabotaging sting operations while maintaining a low profile.
  • Imposter: Works to mislead the Profiler about the true identity of the Informant.
  • Hitman: Has a single opportunity at the game's conclusion to correctly identify either the Informant or Profiler; a correct guess leads to victory for the mafia.
  • Cugine: Remains hidden from the Informant throughout the game.
  • Wannabe: Stays concealed from other mafia members.

The game accommodates varying player counts: 5-6 players include 2 mafia members; 7-9 players comprise 3 mafia; 10-12 consist of 4 mafia; 13-15 feature 5 mafia; and 16-20 involve 6 mafia members.

Mafia Moles draws inspiration from the critically acclaimed games Avalon and The Resistance. While Avalon established a medieval fantasy backdrop for its gameplay, Mafia Moles adheres to a classic mafia and FBI narrative. This adaptation offers an inclusive experience where players need not fear being eliminated early in their first encounter with a new game format.
